A Modern Romance in a Bespoke Lyn Ashworth Gown.
In the rolling grounds of Sandon Hall, bride Alice stepped into her wedding day wearing a gown as individual as the love story it celebrated. Designed by Lyn Ashworth and brought to life through the expertise of Creative Director Sarah Barrett, Alice’s bridal look was a masterclass in elegance, transformation, and refined British craftsmanship.
The gown, meticulously tailored, featured an internal corset that sculpted and supported, marrying structure with softness. A detachable French lace jacket and bespoke lace-edged silk veil lent a sense of romance and tradition for the church ceremony – a look steeped in timeless sophistication.
But it was what came next that truly captured the spirit of a modern bride. With an effortless change, Alice revealed a second silhouette: the lace layers were replaced with delicate straps and a hand-tied silk bow, offering a more playful, contemporary mood for the evening celebration – and an unforgettable surprise for her groom.
In her own words, Alice reflects on the experience of creating her one-of-a-kind dress:
‘Having tried on many different shapes and sizes of dress, I quickly realised that what I wanted did not exist and thought I would have to compromise, this is luckily when I found Lyn Ashworth and Sarah.
The dress with in built corset felt so secure and fit like a glove as it had been expertly fitted over several appointments – every trip up from London was well worth it.
For the church service I had a lace jacket with matching silk veil and petticoat which were whisked away and replaced with straps and a beautiful bow for a more fun feel for the reception, my new husband couldn’t believe it was the same dress!’
